Even voor de beeldvorming naast deze mooie foto’s die ik plaats ben ik wel uren onderweg soms wel 15 uur om vervolgens weer de volgende excursie te nemen met telkens totaal verschillende mensen met een andere afkomst en cultuur. Vandaag ook weer een leuk gesprek gehad met een man op leeftijd uit Peru. Wat ben ik blij dat ik verschillend talen heb geleerd. :-)
Vannacht opgehaald om 03.00 am om een volledige dagtour naar de Colca Canyon te gaan. De Colcakloof is de kloof van de Colca in het zuiden van Peru, ongeveer 160 kilometer van Arequipa. Ze is meer dan twee keer zo diep als de Grand Canyon in Amerika. Daarentegen zijn de muren niet zo recht als bij de Grand Canyon. De Cotahuasikloof, meer noordwest gelegen, is gemeten op 3.501 meter diep. De Colcavallei is een kleurrijk gebied met pittoreske dorpjes. De lokale bevolking houdt zich nog aan de oude tradities en leefwijze en maakt gebruik van landbouwterrassen. De naam Colca is afgeleid van de gaten die in de kloof te zien zijn. Deze gaten heten Colca's. Ze werden gebruikt door de Inca's en Pre-Inca's om voedsel in te bewaren voor slechtere tijden, zoals aardappelen en ander voedsel dat langer mee kan. Ze werden ook gebruikt als graven voor belangrijke mensen.

De Spanjaarden hebben het gebied veroverd en overal kerken gebouwd. Vanaf 1980 kun je het gebied bereiken via autowegen, die strak langs de rand van de kloof gebouwd zijn. De enige weg is vanuit Arequipa.
'Cruz del Condor' is een toeristische plek. De kloof is het woongebied van de Andescondor. Ze vliegen door de kloof, meestal 's ochtends en 's avonds. In de tussentijd zijn ze op zoek naar aas in een verder gelegen gebied. De condors zijn in trek bij toeristen, die dicht bij de condors kunnen komen. Soms naderen de condors tot zo'n 5 meter boven de toeschouwers. 'Cruz del Condor' wordt flink bezocht door de toeristen. Vanaf dit punt is de kloof 1200 meter diep. Daarna gaan we naar de w natuurlijke warmwaterbronnen en sluiten we af met een uitkijkpunt van vele vulkanen sommigen nog actief


Just to get an impression of these beautiful photos that I post, I spend hours on the road, sometimes up to 15 hours, and then take the next excursion with completely different people with different origins and cultures. Like today i had a great conversation with an elderly man from Peru. I am so happy that I learned how to speak different languages :-)
Picked up tonight at 3:00 am to go on a full day tour to the Colca Canyon. The Colca Gorge is the gorge of the Colca in southern Peru, about 160 kilometers from Arequipa. It is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in America. On the other hand, the walls are not as straight as at the Grand Canyon. The Cotahuasi Gorge, located more northwest, is measured at 3,501 meters deep. The Colca Valley is a colorful area with picturesque villages. The local population still adheres to the old traditions and way of life and uses agricultural terraces. The name Colca is derived from the holes that can be seen in the gorge. The Spanish conquered the area and built churches everywhere. Since 1980 you can reach the area via motorways, which are built tightly along the edge of the gorge. The only road is from Arequipa.

Sólo para tener una idea de estas hermosas fotos que publico, paso horas viajando, a veces hasta 15 horas, y luego hago la siguiente excursión con personas completamente diferentes, con diferentes orígenes y culturas. Soy muy feliz para hablar differente idiomas tambien quando no es perfecto :-)
Recogido esta noche a las 3:00 am para realizar un tour de día completo al Cañón del Colca. La Garganta del Colca es la garganta del Colca en el sur de Perú, a unos 160 kilómetros de Arequipa. Tiene más del doble de profundidad que el Gran Cañón de Estados Unidos. Por otro lado, las paredes no son tan rectas como las del Gran Cañón. La Quebrada de Cotahuasi, ubicada más al noroeste, mide 3.501 metros de profundidad. El Valle del Colca es una zona colorida con pueblos pintorescos. La población local todavía se adhiere a las antiguas tradiciones y formas de vida y utiliza terrazas agrícolas. El nombre Colca se deriva de los hoyos que se pueden observar en la quebrada. Estos hoyos se llaman Colcas. Fueron utilizados por los incas y preincas para almacenar alimentos para tiempos peores, como patatas y otros alimentos que pueden durar más. También fueron utilizados como tumbas para personajes importantes.
Los españoles conquistaron la zona y construyeron iglesias por todas partes. Desde 1980 se puede llegar a esta zona a través de autopistas, construidas a lo largo del borde del desfiladero. El único camino es desde Arequipa.
'Cruz del Cóndor' es un lugar turístico. La quebrada es el hábitat del cóndor andino. Vuelan a través del desfiladero, normalmente por la mañana y por la tarde. Mientras tanto, buscan cebo en una zona más alejada. Los cóndores son populares entre los turistas, quienes pueden acercarse a los cóndores. En ocasiones los cóndores se acercan hasta unos 5 metros por encima de los espectadores. La 'Cruz del Cóndor' es visitada frecuentemente por turistas. A partir de este punto el desfiladero tiene 1200 metros de profundidad.
