Vandaag ben ik 9 uurtjes onderweg :taxibus- Ferry -naar Koh Pangang. Een vriend van mij woont daar en haalt me op. Wat een geluk !

Ik heb gezegd dat ik een kleine koffer een een rugzakje mee heb en hij had de koffer nog kleiner verwacht maar kreeg het toch voor elkaar om mij en m’n koffer en rugzak te vervoeren op de scooter. Alleen als we de bocht naar links maakten ging de claxon omdat die tegen de koffer aan drukte :-)
We eten wat met zijn vriendin en haar dochtertje soort van grill in combinatie met fondue all you can eat.
De volgende dagen laat hij me het eiland zien. Allereerst de tempel waar hij veel vrijwillerswerk verricht heeft. Voorheen was dit een plek waar retreats gegeven werden en waar monniken leefden. Er wonen nu nog steeds een of twee monniken en er verblijven een paar dames uit Rusland tegen een kleine vergoeding.
Helaas heeft het complex weinig onderhoudt genoten terwijl ik dat wel zag bij alle andere plekken waar ik tot nu toe geweest was. Jammer dat de mensen die er geleefd en gewerkt hebben dat niet in ere gehouden hebben want het is echt een bijzondere plek.
Er loopt een Israëliër rond met twee mensen uit Birma waarschijnlijk (goedkoop personeel ) en verteld heb hoe hij alles wil verbouwen en dat hun van de meditatie ruimte tevens een restaurant wil maken )
Mooi dat er iemand is die het op wil knappen denk ik , als het met de juiste intentie is🙏🏻

Daarna rijden we verder naar twee tempels een Chinese en een Thaise en omdat het vrijdag is gaan we naar het strand alwaar de buitenlanders hebben verzonnen dat ze dan met z’n allen hun trommels meenemen en op het strand bij zonsondergang samen jammen en dansen. Het doet me denken aan Ibiza Bennie Raz strand en ik vind het wel wat hebben. Het is een milde vorm van zo’n full moon of half moon party die hier op het eiland gegeven worden. Onderweg stoppen we bij een food plaza en eten we heerlijke Thaise gerechten zoals masaman en green curry, echt heerlijk

De volgende dag rijden we naar mooie stranden, echt paradijselijk en bezoeken we een waterval. We rijden nog langs wat de buddisten uitgedrukt hebben als de ‘hel’ en een tempel gemaakt van flessen. We gaan nog naar een avond markt en even ben ik die vriend uit het oog verloren omdat ik in een winkeltje ben blijven hangen 😁 gelukkig is het makkelijk communiceren met m’n Thaise telefoonkaart en heb ik hem snel getraceerd. Ik koop nog wat vis koekjes en eet die thuis op voordat we gaan biljarten met zijn vriendin en een vriend van hem. Dat was echt gezellig en leuk. Voldaan val ik in slaap dan wel met muggen prikken overal want ik was m’n muggenspray vergeten mee te nemen. In de ochtend had ik het erop gedaan maar door de waterval en zweten was het er weer af gegaan.


Today I am on the road for 9 hours: taxi bus - Ferry - to Koh Pangang. A friend of mine lives there and picks me up. What a luck !

I told him that I have a small suitcase and a backpack and he expected the suitcase to be even smaller, but he still managed to transport me and my suitcase and backpack on the scooter. Only when we turned to the left did the horn sound because it pressed against the suitcase :-)
We eat something with his girlfriend and her daughter, a kind of grill in combination with fondue all you can eat.
The next days he shows me the island. First of all, the temple where he did a lot of volunteer work. Previously this was a place where retreats were given and where monks lived. One or two monks still live there and a few ladies from Russia stay there for a small fee.
Unfortunately, the complex has received little maintenance, while I saw that in all the other places I had been so far. It's a shame that the people who lived and worked there did not honor that, because it is truly a special place.
There is an Israeli walking around with two people from Burma probably (cheap staff) and I told them how he wants to renovate everything and that they also want to turn the meditation room into a restaurant)
It's nice that there is someone who wants to fix it, I think, if it is with the right intention🙏🏻

Then we drive on to two temples, one Chinese and one Thai, and because it is Friday we go to the beach where the foreigners have invented that they all bring their drums and jam and dance together on the beach at sunset. It reminds me of Ibiza Bennie Raz beach and I think it has something to it. It is a mild form of one of those full moon or half moon parties that are given here on the island. Along the way we stop at a food plaza and eat delicious Thai dishes such as masaman and green curry, really delicious

The next day we drive to beautiful beaches, truly heavenly, and we visit a waterfall. We drive past what the Buddhists have described as 'hell' and visit a temple made of bottles We go to an evening market and for a moment I lost sight of that friend because I got stuck in a shop 😁 luckily it is easy to communicate with my Thai phone card and I quickly traced him. I buy some fish cakes and eat them at home before we go play billiards with his girlfriend and a friend of his. That was really nice and fun. Satisfied, I fall asleep with mosquitoes stinging everywhere because I forgot to bring my mosquito spray. I put it on in the morning, but due to the waterfall and sweating it came off again.

Hoy estoy de viaje durante 9 horas: taxi autobús - ferry - hasta Koh Pangang. Un amigo mío vive allí y me recoge. Que suerte !

Le dije que tenía una maleta pequeña y una mochila y él esperaba que la maleta fuera aún más pequeña, pero aun así logró transportarme a mí y a mi maleta y mochila en el scooter. Sólo cuando giramos a la izquierda sonó la bocina porque presionaba contra la maleta :-)
Comemos algo con su novia y su hija, una especie de parrillada en combinación con fondue todo lo que puedas comer.
Los días siguientes me muestra la isla. En primer lugar, el templo donde realizó mucho trabajo voluntario. Antiguamente este era un lugar donde se daban retiros y donde vivían los monjes. Todavía viven allí uno o dos monjes y algunas señoras rusas se alojan allí por una pequeña tarifa.
Desafortunadamente, el complejo ha recibido poco mantenimiento, mientras que eso lo vi en todos los demás lugares en los que había estado hasta ahora. Es una pena que las personas que vivieron y trabajaron allí no lo respetaron, porque es realmente un lugar especial.
Hay un israelí caminando con dos personas de Birmania probablemente (personal barato) y les dije que quiere renovar todo y que también quieren convertir la sala de meditación en un restaurante).
Es bueno que haya alguien que quiera arreglarlo, creo, si es con la intención correcta🙏🏻

Luego vamos a dos templos, uno chino y otro tailandés, y como es viernes vamos a la playa donde los extranjeros han inventado que todos traen sus tambores, tocan y bailan juntos en la playa al atardecer. Me recuerda a la playa de Ibiza Bennie Raz y creo que tiene algo. Es una forma suave de una de esas fiestas de luna llena o media luna que se dan aquí en la isla. En el camino paramos en una plaza de comida y comemos deliciosos platos tailandeses como masaman y curry verde, realmente deliciosos.

Al día siguiente nos dirigimos a hermosas playas, verdaderamente paradisíacas, y visitamos una cascada. Pasamos por lo que los budistas han descrito como "infierno" y visitamos un templo hecho de botellas. Vamos a un mercado nocturno y por un momento perdí de vista a ese amigo porque me quedé atrapado en una tienda 😁 afortunadamente es fácil comunicarme con mi tarjeta telefónica tailandesa y rápidamente lo localicé. Compro unas croquetas de pescado y las como en casa antes de ir a jugar al billar con su novia y un amigo suyo. Eso fue realmente lindo y divertido. Satisfecho, me quedo dormido con los mosquitos picando por todos lados porque olvidé traer mi repelente de mosquitos. Me lo puse por la mañana, pero debido a la cascada y al sudor se me volvió a caer.
